It’s Friday and my Virtual Book Tour makes its last stop this week at Teaching Traveling!. I e-chat with Lillie Marshall who interviewed me about my experiences teaching and traveling abroad. The interview focuses specifically on my experiences at an international K-12 boarding school in Bangalore, India and my views on education and travel. One of my unique experiences was traveling with my class to the Kabini River Lodge and going on jungle safaris with my 5th grade students. My answers supplement the story that I shared in May This Be the Best Year of Your Life.
Lillie Marshall hosts a unique site that focuses on teachers and traveling. So much is to be gained by sharing experiences. This site is a treasure trove of amazing adventures. If you’re a teacher, traveler or have an adventurous spirit, take a stroll through her site.
Teaching Traveling was started by and is run by, Lillie Marshall, a Boston public school teacher who traveled around the world for nine straight months on a career-break sabbatical. Lillie’s travels took her through Southeast Asia, Ghana (where she taught for 3 months), Spain, and beyond. Previously, she traveled extensively in Latin America. You can read all about her travels and teaching at AroundTheWorldL.com Travel Blog.
Lillie is now back teaching in Boston Public Schools, but continues to be an avid traveler. She loves helping other teachers learn to economically travel, and assists travelers to teach!
