After my successful launch of 100 Things to Do in Boulder Before You Die at the Boulder Bookstore on October 13, I entered the next phase of showcasing my book. The next week, I had the pleasure of visiting the Barnes & Noble Book Store in Boulder for a book signing, spent time with the residents at Brookdale North for a book presentation and book signing, and had an engaging book chat at the new Tattered Cover in Westminster.
After working in my home writing, editing, and connecting with entities mentioned in the book, it was time to address my audience of travel readers. Writers spend so much time in silence. It’s wonderful when you can talk about Boulder with other people.
Barnes & Noble Book Store in Boulder
The audiences in these three places were engaging. At the Barnes & Noble Book Store, I met people who have lived in Boulder for decades along with newcomers. The book had the greatest appeal to the people who have only been in town for less than a couple of years.
Brookdale North in Boulder
At Brookdale North, I spoke with knowledgeable residents. Some have lived in Boulder since the 1960s. They graciously shared their favorite places and offered suggestions for future editions of the book
Tattered Cover in Westminster
The Westminster’s Tattered Cover is a hidden gem that opened earlier this year. At this location, visitors can enjoy a full-service bar and cafe. It is in a convenient location next to the Origin Hotel and close to the movie theaters. It is a short distance from the Sheridan Exit to the Boulder-Denver Turnpike. A small gathering of women occupied a cluster of comfy seats while I gave my presentation. Some had already visited some of the amazing places that I mentioned about during my talk.
To my delight, my book sold well at the three locations. It was fun to interact with my audience. When requested, I autographed the purchased books. FYI, I provide a complimentary bookmark in each signed copy.
If you missed my appearances, I left a stack of autographed books at Barnes & Noble and the Tattered Cover.
